Subject : Enhancement of financial power to Head of the Department (HODs) under CBEC for hiring of accommodation and revision of rent Clarification regarding allocation of work to Directorate General of Housing & Welfare.

I am directed to refer to your letter F. No. 910/11/Misc./HW/2003/682 dated 31.05.2004 on the above subject and to say that the matter has been examined in the Board. It has been decided that henceforth all the cases relating to hiring of accommodation and revision of rent of the buildings hired by the field formations of CBEC shall be examined and monitored by the Directorate General of Housing & Welfare. The cases that are already under examination in the Ministry will continue to be dealt with in AD VIII(EC) section for the time being. Ministry's letter F.No. 207/37/2002-Ad.VIII(EC) dated 07.05.2003 stands amended to the extent.
